Getting Started with ProPet
What kinds of pet businesses can use ProPet?
ProPet is built for boarding kennels, dog daycares, pet groomers, dog trainers, and pet retailers.
You can subscribe to just the modules you need, so whether you run a grooming-only salon or a full-service boarding and daycare facility, ProPet can be configured to fit your operation.
ProPet is founder-owned and has been since 2014, which means the platform has been shaped by real kennel owners, not investor roadmaps.
Where can I sign up or see the software in action?
The best way to get started is to book a live demo with our team. We’ll walk you through the platform, answer your questions, and help you figure out which modules make sense for your business.
You can also create a free demo account to explore at your own pace. There are no obligations. If it’s not the right fit, we understand.
What is SaaS (Software as a Service)?
SaaS means you’re subscribing to software that lives in the cloud rather than installing it on a computer.
You don’t need to worry about downloading updates, maintaining servers, or backing up data; that’s all handled on our end.
What does “cloud-based” mean?
Cloud-based means all your data is stored securely online rather than on a single computer at your facility. You can log in from any device with an internet connection, and if your computer ever crashes or gets damaged, your data is completely safe.
ProPet uses geo-redundant data centres, so your information is automatically backed up in multiple physical locations.
Is ProPet easy to use if I’m not tech-savvy?
Yes. ProPet was designed with pet care facility operators in mind, not software engineers. The interface is intuitive, and every new customer gets a personalized setup session and staff training with our team. We also have an online Knowledge Base with articles and how-to guides available anytime.
If I book a demo, am I obligated to sign up?
Not at all. Booking a demo or creating a free account comes with zero obligation. If ProPet is a great fit, we’d love to get you set up. If it’s not right for your business, we’ll tell you honestly.
Is there a setup fee?
Setup fees depend on your subscription type:
- Two-Year Subscription: No setup fee
- Annual Subscription: $50 USD ($70 CAD) per module
- Monthly Subscription: $75 USD ($105 CAD) per module

What subscription options are available?
ProPet offers monthly, annual, and two-year subscription plans.
The longer-term subscriptions come at a discount and waive the setup fee.

What modules can I subscribe to?
You can mix and match modules based on your business:
- Pet & Client Manager (included with all packages)
- Boarding Module

Pricing starts at $49.99 USD/month ($69.99 CAD/month) and varies based on module combination. See our Pricing page for current plan details.
Do you offer any discounts or promotions?
Yes. Clients who choose annual or two-year subscriptions receive discounted rates compared to month-to-month.
We also occasionally run promotional offers. Reach out to our team for current promotions.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
If you’re on a monthly plan, you can cancel at any time, and your access continues until the end of your current billing cycle.
For annual or two-year subscribers, cancellations take effect at the end of the subscription term.
Do you accept all major credit cards?
Yes. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and rewards cards. Discover Cards are not currently supported.
Does ProPet charge per user or per seat?
No. ProPet doesn’t charge per user. You pay for the modules your business uses, not the number of people on your team. Whether you have one staff member or ten, your price stays the same.
Switching from Another Platform
I’m currently using another kennel software. Can I bring my data with me?
Yes. If your current software allows data export, we can migrate your customer and pet records into ProPet.
We offer three migration options:
- Free migration when you use our data template (download available from our team)
- Standard Migration: $150 USD ($210 CAD)
- Complex Migration: $300 USD ($420 CAD)

Why do kennels switch to ProPet from other platforms?
We hear this a lot, especially from customers whose previous software changed after an acquisition. When platforms are acquired, pricing tends to rise, support quality tends to decline, and the product roadmap shifts to serve investors rather than operators.
ProPet has been 100% founder-owned since 2014. Our founder still uses ProPet daily to run her own kennel, so when you talk to our team, you’re talking to people who genuinely understand your business. That hasn’t changed, and we have no plans to change it.
How long does it take to get set up?
Most customers are up and running within a few days of their setup session. Every new account gets a personalized onboarding call where we configure your settings, train your staff, and answer questions.

ProPet’s Features
Can my customers book online?
Yes. ProPet includes a customer-facing portal where clients can request bookings, fill in pet and owner profiles, upload vaccination records, complete forms, and enter payment details.
You control what they can see and do, including whether bookings require your approval.
Does ProPet track pet medications and feeding schedules?
Yes. ProPet’s Smart Medication and Smart Feeding features let you track and manage medication and feeding instructions for each pet in your care.
Staff can log when medications and meals are given, and customers can view and update their pet’s needs through the client portal. This helps ensure nothing gets missed during a stay, especially for pets with complex care routines.
Can I send report cards to pet owners?
Yes. ProPet’s Report Card feature lets you create fully customizable report cards for boarding, daycare, grooming, and training stays. You can add custom sections and questions, attach photos, and send the finished card directly to pet owners via email.
Report cards can be created right from the Day Summary report or the Booking Confirmation page.
Does ProPet support coupon or promotional codes?
Yes. You can create unique coupons and promotional codes directly in your ProPet settings.
Options include:
- Fixed, per-unit, or percentage discounts
- Limits on total uses or uses per customer
- Combining multiple coupons or restricting to one at a time
- Rule-based eligibility (e.g., specific breeds, date ranges, customer colour codes)
Both you and your customers can apply coupon codes when creating a booking.
Does ProPet integrate with Google Calendar?
Yes. ProPet offers a Google Calendar integration so your bookings and scheduled services can sync with your Google Calendar. This is great for staff who prefer to view their schedule outside of ProPet.
Does ProPet have an API?
Yes. ProPet’s Open API is coming soon and is currently in Beta testing. It will allow developers and tech-savvy kennel operators to connect ProPet with custom tools, workflows, and third-party applications beyond our standard integrations.
What other integrations does ProPet support?
ProPet integrates with a growing list of tools, including:
- QuickBooks Online (accounting)
- Square and Chosen Payments (credit card processing)
- MailChimp (email marketing)
- Twilio (SMS / text messaging)
- Zapier (connect ProPet with thousands of other apps)
- Google Calendar
Can I integrate my account with a credit card processor?
Yes. ProPet works with Chosen Payments and Square for online and in-person credit card processing. Stripe is available for online payments only.
Chosen Payments also offers integrated EMV terminals for US-based customers and guarantees to beat your current processing rates or give you $500.
What reporting does ProPet offer?
ProPet includes a range of reports to help you run your business, including:
- Financial reports (revenue by service, by line item, total revenue)
- Day summary reports for boarding, daycare, grooming, and training
- Vaccination status reports
- Agreement status reports
- Feeding and medication reports
- Birthday reports
- Scheduled events reports

Accounts & Access
How do I get my account set up?
After signing up, you’ll schedule an Account Setup Session with a member of our team. We’ll configure your account, walk you through the platform, and train your staff. You can also reach us anytime at info@propetware.com.
Can each of my staff members have their own login?
Yes. Each staff member gets their own individual login.
As the account administrator, you control what each person can see and do within ProPet. This keeps your data secure and makes it easy to manage access as your team changes.
How many people can log in at the same time?
Multiple team members can access ProPet simultaneously, so there’s no limit on concurrent users.
Is there a limit on the number of client or pet profiles I can have?
How much storage do I have?
You can store customer records, vaccination documents, photos, signed agreements, and more without worrying about running out of space.
Security & Data
Who owns my data?
You do. Always.
Your customer records, pet profiles, financial data, and documents belong to your business.
ProPet is independently owned and has never been acquired, so there’s no third-party investor or parent company with access to your data.
Is my data secure?
Yes. ProPet uses industry-leading security standards and stores all data across geo-redundant data centres, meaning it’s automatically backed up in multiple physical locations.

What happens if my internet goes down?
ProPet requires a stable internet connection to operate in real time.
If you temporarily lose connectivity, your data is completely safe in the cloud and will be fully accessible as soon as your connection is restored.
What if my computer crashes?
Because your data is stored in the cloud — not on your device — a computer crash doesn’t affect it at all. Just log in from any other device and everything will be right where you left it.
Does ProPet use Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to keep my account secure?
Yes. ProPet supports Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to help protect your account and your customers’ data. When 2FA is enabled, users must verify their identity using a unique code sent to their email address before accessing ProPet.
